Covid-19; Depok Imposes Local Lockdown in 422 Community Units - Tempo.co English

TEMPO.CO, DepokThe Depok city administration imposed a local lockdown or known as social restriction of the alert village (PSKS) in 422 community units or RW for 14 days.

Depok Mayor Mohammad Idris said in a statement on Sunday, Dec. 27, that the enforcement took effect beginning Dec. 19, 2020, until January 2, 2021, based on the Mayor’s Decree No. 443/490/Kpts/Dinkes/Huk/2020.

The 422 RW eligible for the quarantine spread across 63 urban villages and 11 subdistricts. The three highest figures were located in Sukamaju Urban Village with 22 RW, Mekarsari Urban Village with 16 RW, and Mekarjaya Urban Village with 14 RW.

Thus, Idris asserted that Depok prohibited New Year’s Eve celebrations that attract crowds. “Depok city is in a high-risk zone or red zone in two consecutive weeks because of rising cases in almost all regions,” he said.

According to him, the city administration would also tighten the Covid-19 alert village program, increase test capacity, add more isolation rooms in hospitals or isolation centers, and enhance the law enforcement on the health protocol along with the Military or TNI and the Police.

Idris further appealed to the public to implement the 2i3M movement, viz. having faith, maintaining immune, wearing a face mask, washing hands with soap, and maintaining distance.

“Because the key to our success in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic really depends on ourselves, our families, and the social environment, and most importantly the help of Allah, the Greatest Helper,” said Idris.
